The Vietnam War

The Vietnam War is also known as the Second Indochina War. It was a Cold Wary military conflict that occured in Vietnam, Loas and Cambodia. It was fought from November of 1955 to April of 1975 when Siagon fell. This war was fought between North Vietnam and its communist allies and South Vietnam with the aid of the U.S. The U.S.'s main motivation to help Southern Vietnam achieve victory was it's fear of the domino effect; we didn't want Vietnam to fall to communism because we felt that when it fell the rest of Asia and the East would fall as well. And that soon communism would take over.
The North Vietnamese, communist army was lightly armed and fought with guerrilla war tactics against the South and the U.S. South Vietnamese forces relied mostly on air support for their war which involved mostly dropping bombs.
